Salter, Evelyn Carol (Marriage - 28 June 1947)
Miss Evelyn Carol Salter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Salter of Unity, became the bride of Benjamin William Brill, son of Mrs. Mary Brill of Colby, Saturday afternoon, June 28, in Wausau by a justice of the peace. Attending the couple were Mrs. Victor Thiel of Wausau, sister of the groom, and Stewart Salter of West Bend, brother of the bride.
The bride was attired in a smart white linen suit, accented with a red-rose corsage and completed with white accessories and a white hat and veil. Mrs. Theil wore a white dress with red accessories and a corsage of mixed sweet peas and carnations.
Forty guests were entertained at a 5 o’clock dinner served to immediate relatives and friends at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride’s mother greeted the guests wearing a powder blue suit and the groom’s mother was wearing a green silk flowered dress. Cut flowers decorated the home.
The couple, after a short wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, will depart for Vancouver, Wash., where the bride has been appointed occupational therapist at the veterans hospital. She is a graduate of the Unity high school, with the class of 1941 and of Milwaukee State Teachers college and of Milwaukee-Downer college. The groom, a Colby high school graduate, was for 4 ½ years in service in the Pacific area.
